Actually, not all of these shows are British, but I was looking for shows that are smart and relatively low on violence--I've watched Ripper Street and I've read piles of Scandinavian noir, but I just can't handle anything that violent anymore. There's something about the weather getting colder that causes me to crave British mysteries.
