Date: 2022-02-09 07:36 pm (UTC)Lang also wrote the delightful A Phone of their Own about the Deaf engineers who created the TTY network with the telephone cradle modem. Twas a big battle, because Ma Bell insisted that the only way to connect textually was by renting a hideously expensive T1 line.
