I've previously posted about the wild turkeys that hang out around our house, including the recent sighting of a mother turkey who has chicks.

Today, our back yard is filled with men in trucks emptying the junk that has filled our garage for the past two or three decades, plus a lot of junk from the front porch that we put out there to be taken away (seriously, this is a three truck job).

So, I had been hearing the sounds of trukey distress, but had assumed it was coming from teh back yard somewhere.

However, when I went to sit on the front stairs to enjoy some sun, there was a huge turkey standing out there, making cries of outrage tot eh universe.

I looked at it. It looked at me.

I went back inside.

I mean, it's *possible* this turkey wouldn't blame me for whatever specifically offended its turkey nature, but these things are pretty huge, and I really don't want a creature which used to be considered a god by the ancient Aztecs angry at me.

Kes: If you attended ReConvene this past Saturday, you might have heard Rebecca Roanhorse and Stephen Graham Jones, and I'm really excited about new books by Rebecca Roanhorse and Darcie Little Badger. Bookshare and NLS both have books by Roanhorse, but I recommend the audiobook so you get to really hear the language.
