Can anyone think of any?

I can think of a number of blind female characters written by male SF writers, and I can think of blind male characters written by male SF writers, but I am coming up with nothing for the subject line.

It's "interstitial arts": sorta horror called The Garden of Eros by Dorothy Bryant. Relatively newly-blinded woman is abandoned by boyfriend and gives birth alone in cabin in isolated woods. The rhythm of the 1st person story is set to the periodic labor pains—I enjoyed it a lot.

Will ponder some more.

It is graphic but in a sensual way. And most delightfully, it is not a "woman in danger" story: it's all about how she figures out how to take of herself, not as a super-blink, but as an everyday human.

Yes, Merrick's research on the _Fem Cabal_ is just stunning. More anon -- nap time.
