Cosmic rays: where do they come from, and how can they affect computers?

I am in love with this video, along with the idea that the universe itself introduces an element of chance into even a totally bug-free program.
However, I will say that, if you have any anxiety about flying, you may wish to skip it

Okay. That is cool.

I've been more wary of Veritsium's videos than I used to be, since he seems to have gotten more gee-whizsery about high tech stuff, bordering on boosterism for Elon Musk.

But I do love little reminders that I am a cosmic denizen of a cosmic universe, and I have a direct connections to the stars.

He also has a recent video which is basically: "Self-Driving Cars will Save Humanity!" Even though the A.I, and the drivers that monitor them very rarely take the variation of disabled pedestrians into account when programming for shared public space (such as blind people who are less likely to hear the super quiet engines, or wheelchair-, or crutch-users, whose silhouettes are less likely to be flagged as "human shaped.").

But yes -- that video was fun.

WELL THAT WAS Nifty!

The presenter has a soothing voice, and for several minutes I felt like I was actually understanding the presentation.

(As opposed to now it's "rays happen, things change, hard to predict.")
