Okay. That is cool.

I've been more wary of Veritsium's videos than I used to be, since he seems to have gotten more gee-whizsery about high tech stuff, bordering on boosterism for Elon Musk.

But I do love little reminders that I am a cosmic denizen of a cosmic universe, and I have a direct connections to the stars.

I get what you're saying: there are a couple of supposed assistive tech and accessibility projects for visually impaired people, and many of them are just about selling another high-priced device that is nowhere near affordable to your average visually impaired person.

But that video was pretty fun!

He also has a recent video which is basically: "Self-Driving Cars will Save Humanity!" Even though the A.I, and the drivers that monitor them very rarely take the variation of disabled pedestrians into account when programming for shared public space (such as blind people who are less likely to hear the super quiet engines, or wheelchair-, or crutch-users, whose silhouettes are less likely to be flagged as "human shaped.").

But yes -- that video was fun.

Yes, I saw the title for the self-driving cars video, and basically rolled my eyes and stuck them back in my head. I swear, and this was true to all the way back when I was at MIT in the early 2000s, self-driving cars is one of the tope three things geek boys are obsessed about. If the self-driving car came with a free live dinosaur and a computer game channel, they would all immediately die of pure bliss right on the spot.
