My word-association is with landfills -- the infrastructure formerly known as the dump -- because they need a lot of remediation even after they're officially closed to stop them poisoning the water table. Before he herded doctors, MyGuy herded landfill remediators.

Is it because they're scientists that they actually include a section that defines abbreviations and acronyms? I love scientists. Healthcare is full of acronyms, and I'm like an acronym pit bull getting these people to stop and define their acronyms.
