I received the first of my Covid vaccinations

EEarly yesterday morning our PCP, the Codman Square Health Center, sent out a text with a phone number to call, which I hadn't noticed, but when Alexx woke up he called, an they were making same-day appointments, so we went right over.

I asked the woman who gave me the vaccine how many people the clinic was vaccinating that day and she said 162. Still, the clinic was not crowded at all.

Accessibility alert: I strongly suspect that the vaccine scheduling websites pose serious accessibility issues not just for visually impaired users using screen reading software, which adds additional time to page refresh times, but is broken in other ways.

My advice would be to use the phone numbers to talk to live humans who can assist in scheduling appointments rather than relying on webpages.

How long do you need stay in a phone line to get live human to talk with you? Bad advice, so far...

It was my husband who made the call, but he was only on the phone for minutes: he's been attempting to schedule an appointment for me through the website for about two weeks.

Every state are different and some website better and some phone lines queues are longer...

My sister made the arrangements for my mother here in Ottawa. She used the phone system to reach live humans, and it took her an hour or two.

Sadly, a phone call which takes an hour or two but ultimately results in successfully getting a vaccine appointment is better than spending a couple of weeks trying various websites and completely failing to get any appointments.

I also realize that you are in Canada, which I'm hoping is not as f***ed up as Massachusetts has been for people with disabilities.

The rollout quality has varied from province to province, I'm sorry to say. If you're in the northern territories (Yukon, North-West Territories, Nunavut), you'll likely have a better chance of already being properly cared for vaccine-wise by now.
