Okay, who can sing along?

When I think about media's potential to teach children seemingly complicated subjects, I always come back to Schoolhouse Rock. How many other people reading this can recite the preamble to the Constitution? I'll count it even if you have to lalala through a few passages or, like me, sing it in order to remember it.

Yep, I remember a lot of the preamble due to Schoolhouse Rock. I also have some French vocabulary stored in folk songs.

I certainly sang it through when I had to regurgitate the preamble for a test in high school. If I remember correctly, I had to sing it twice because I couldn't write fast enough to transcribe it in one go.

I love it! A friend and I once confounded our high school American history teacher because we knew a bunch of facts about the Civil War from reading John Jakes's historical series.

Pretty sure my entire social studies class in junior year in high school all broke into a quiet unison hum-along during a relevant exam. The teacher was amused, unsurprised, and didn't stop us.
