The battery ran out on mine, but I've always been really poor at finding both the ball bearings and figuring out the time, so I just wear it as jewelry, not that there is really a "just" about that.
Shame about the ball bearings being hard to find. But you're right about the jewelry. Decorating ourselves with shinies has always been a feature of humans....
