Regency/Victorian gentlemen's club cosplay

I’ve always loved reading about Regency/Victorian gentlemen’s clubs, and have decided to create a gentlemen’s club cosplay. This will probably occur on the Sunday of January 21 (the weekend after Arisia). Details are still developing, but if others are interested in attending, please contact me.

I look forward to more news of these developments. What sort of gentleman would you be cosplaying?

actually, the final push to do this came from a Victorian paranormal romance series I like, and in the series there are a couple of secondary characters who are very nattily dressed men, and the reader finds out that they are women who pass as men, and belong to a gentlemen's club of similarly inclined members. The club is called the Janus Club.

Anyway, since I know a number of female friends who love the gentlemen's club aesthetic, I decided to create a cosplay for us. At the very least, we intend on drinking brandy and learning to play hazard and whist, although I would also like to have each member speak on a topic on which they are knowledgeable, such as how to create a gentleman's library, or how to pack for an expedition, or how to conduct a duel.

I hope you've seen Glenn Close's movie on this theme, Albert Nobbs. If not, it offers insight into another genderswitcher somewhat lower in the class hierarchic.
