So far, my two favorite versions are 1. by Alison Krause and Yo Yo Ma and 2. Blackmore's Nights, but I figure my friends probably have some excellent recommendations for versions which I may not have heard yet.
I don't know what you mean by 'lack of volume' in this context; is this an issue with Amazon.com not interfacing with your screen reader or is there a problem with the music?
I might be looking at a different Revels recording, so I hope I'm not confusing you when actually I might be the confused person but, Amazon has an mp3 on sale for Revels--it has David Coffin and a children's chorus--but it is live, and, rather than sounding as if he is singing close to a mike, Coffin sounds as if he is quite some distance away from a microphone, so the volume is kind of like someone singing from the other side of a large room. I'm hoping this explanation makes sense, apologies if it is maundering.
Postscirpt: The volume issue is not related to my screen reader but, as a screen reader user, sometimes when someone is speaking too softly for me to hear, I find myself reaching for the volume button. I also sometimes catch myself reaching for the fast forward button when I am listening to someone who is really boring. Darn these live people who don't have a simple interface...

Date: 2012-12-03 03:22 pm (UTC)I really like The Christmas Revels' version of Lord of the Dance. I only realized last year that they're Cambridge locals.
