Kes: for instance, are they meandering, spiraling, S-shaped, serpentine, crescent-shaped, etc? A description of the shade of color would be appreciated also.

They're ripping waves, giving the whole floor the appearance the ocean at the beach, with successive little wavelets lapping onto shore. It's a good fool-the-eye effect; I would never have guessed the floor was actually flat. The color is generally pretty dark, about the same shade as a new pair of blue jeans.

Yes, I would have said "undulating, like ocean waves." Moreover, the varying widths of white between the dark blue lines (which I'd call 'royal blue') give the illusion of highlights and shadows, increasing the effect that the floor itself is uneven. Also, there is a radiating, spiraling effect where the "waves" appear to be forming a whirlpool around a central, steel and concrete, pillar dominating the room.

In this context, I'd say that "trippy" could refer to either: causing a person to mistrust their senses, and feel like they are having a psychodelic trip, or being afraid that they would trip, walking over the floor. The latter was my reaction, and one reason my immediate thought was: "This is a Bad Idea for a floor design." I don't know about you, but when I enter a room, I like to be confident that the floor under me is actually flat and solid.

Well, I have good vision, and all-white rooms freak me out, too. There's just something creepy and nightmarish about them.

Which is why I never understood the meme that "in the Future, everything will be white and shiny!" I mean -- really? Especially since, in many Asian cultures, white is the color of mourning.
