Weirdness: this book
http://openlibrary.org/books/OL6332139M/A_nursery_in_the_nineties/daisy
doesn't show up through NLS, and when I downloaded it to my BookSense, it opened, but seemed to read a list of contents--About this book, etc.--and then just stopped. The Web site FAQ mentions needing a NLS key, which I have, but doesn't mention any info about how to read this kind of Daisy book. I don't even know if it's audio or text--how can I find out? Has anyone else used this flavor of Daisy books?

If I'm reading this AccessWorld article right, it's not actually an NLS book (which is why it's not in the NLS catalog), it's just that Open Library is using the NLS format for the books it's producing. The article implies that the Open Library DAISY books are text: "Open Library breaks new ground by not only piggybacking on this NLS key for its own format, but by offering text-based DAISY books using this key. Because of this, many players that do not expect to see text in an NLS-authorized book will not play them. This situation is due to change shortly, surmises Hornstein, as the Internet Archive is working with manufacturers to allow for this format."

That was August 2010. Sounds like "shortly" has a broad definition.
