So the USB cable for my BookPort finally went kaput after six or more years of heavy use and I need a new one. It'sone of those USB cables with the regular sized connector on one end and the smaller connector ont he other, non-proprietary. You would think that between Alexx and I we would have one of these, but the tricky part is "non-proprietary."

I will be in Davis Square on Saturday--can anyone recommend a decent electronicis store? I note that there is a Radio Shack in Porter Square but it has wretched reviews, so I'm trying to avoid that experience. I may also get a patch cord to connect my BookSense to my HD radio speakers, but I'm not sure what I need to do that.

My knowledge of Davis Sq is antique. But be advised that the "standard" in USB is not that standard. I've encountered six different styles of tiny ends — be sure to bring along the old cable.
