Yes, I was pronouncing it "krake-un" also, because that is how my TTS pronounces it, but the American writers and editors seem to have picked up the British pronounciation, so that is how I am going to try to remember it.
Great con, more aboutit when I recover a bit. My talk on "What Good Writers Still Get Wrong about Blind People" seemed to go quie well, I got lots of compliments on it and--a friend told me this afterward--had a full room with some people sitting on the floor. I'm glad I didn't know that, or I would have been even more nervous than I was. It helped that people started asking me questions pretty early, so that kept things lively.
