Right, and not only is Hermione the only one who does independent research, but she's the one who solves the logic puzzle in the--is it the first book? Yes, the one with the puzzle involving all the bottles. Also, Hermione is the only student we see taking arithmancy (thank you, Alexa, for telling me how to spell that), though I would be interested in seeing how her textbooks explain boolean logic (I nearly misspelled that as booklean logic).
