The good news: I've been stuffing my brain by memorizing more Jaws keyboard commands and updating my skills using other apps.

The bad news: at some point I accidentally turned on a Jaws sound effect that makes a slight buzzing sound to signify SOMETHING IMPORTANT, but I'm not sure what. It happens when I'm down arrowing through a document.

Now I'm really hoping I can manage to persuade MCB to give me a Jaws upgrade, because I don't think I am ever going to figure out what is making that weird noise.

Sounds infuriating. And definitely reminiscent of those cryptic "check engine" lights.

That is mysterious! Could it be down-arrowing through a blank line?

It doesn't occur every time I press down arrow, it doesn't occur every time I go down a blank line, or a line with text in it. It sometimes happens when I down arrow to a blank line, and sometimes for a few lines of text in a row.

I can't sense a pattern to whent he sound occurs, but I think I might have accidentally toggled something on in the settings center while I was trying to turn the virtual cursor setting back on. I remember doing something with the text analyzer....

Seriously, Jaws is as complicated as the computer system of a car at this point, and I'm still using version 18.

I would love a Jaws call-in show with the Cartalk show.

What kind of document does it happen in? Are these web pages? I ask because there are two behaviors specific to scrolling down in a web page which can trigger alerts that are usually visual: if one is navigating down a web page with "infinite scroll", as one approaches the bottom more document automatically loads on the bottom end; the other is that if one is scrolling downward in a reverse chronological compilation that updates in real-time, you can get a notification that more content has become available to load to the top, and you need to refresh the page to get it.

No, it was happening in text documents as well as web pages, and it would sound after just a few lines, say, five or six lines, and then every few lines, throughout the document or web page.
I think it was some sort of text analyzer alert, but I've upgraded to the new Jaws 2020, and I opted not to save the settings from my previous version, so the sound is no longer occurring.
