Some good news
Someone from Boston Medical Center phoned me yesterday regarding patient feedback I had given in an online form that part of their online form was inaccessible with my screen reader.
The person calling was the head of a department in which I had recently had surgery, and she thanked me for my feedback and said that they had just rolled out the new version of the online form recently, and hadn't even expected to receive feedback from anyone yet. I gave her some recommendations for accessibility sites and live people who could better diagnose the issue.
Most of the online form was very accessible, except for the last page, which asked for comments and which was mostly an edit field. I kept getting popped out of the edit field and every time I did, it put me back on the page for teh previous question, which I had to answer again before it would advance back to the last page, which included the button to submit the form. This happened three or four times in a few minutes.
The dept. head told me that hse had told her dept. that this was a priority issue.
I almost cried at the mention that someone considered accessibility a priority issue.

Being treated with respect feels good.

Also, I spent an extra twenty minutes waiting for a return ride home because no one told the driver that I was blind so s/he needed to look for a person with a white cane. The driver was sitting double parked for twenty minutes before calling me.

Some good news, though I hate that such news is unusual. Gah.
