My new tattoo

Yesterday I got a new tattoo: it's a vine of ivy leaves that curl around my right wrist. I feel very lucky that the artist who did the tattoo was Victor, at Good Faith Tattoo. He took my design idea of an ivy vine wrapping around my list and literally made it blossom out into something magical. Today the swelling went down a bit, though the actual tattoo design is still raised enough that I can braille it.

That's stunning! Does it color coordinate with your new eyes?

Multi-color tattoos seem to remain braillable longer than one-color versions.

Weird insight #33: in the last two photos, you hold your hand up in a way characteristic of blind people. Sighted people tend to align their palms facing the photographer.

No, what's weird is that it was Alexx holding my hand up like that--it was not the way I wanted to hold my hand at all, and it felt uncomfortably awkward.

(Or maybe Alexx is secretly blind?

A. isn't blind, but he's on the spectrum, and my theory is that there is a lot of overlap between blind and ADD kids. It also made me a bit snappish because I hate it when people pose my body parts without asking.
