Yes, JoCo recaps every episode and makes a brief cameo in the season finale.

I enjoyed the show very much.
Still no word on renewal, but they found a satisfying way to conclude the season if they don't get any more.

I expect that any planning for a second season will depends on how this year's election goes, as the results will definitely influence interpretations of what is horror and what is humor.
