Cataloguing

I just finished scanning Poppy Z. Brite's _Prime_, the only one of the Liquor series which I haven't read yet. The series is about a gay couple in New Orleans who run a restaurant. Because I am that sort of book geek, I was looking at the copyright and cataloguing page and noticed that the Library of Congress cataloguing information, which has always seemed rather hit or miss to me, lists the first two categories as New Orleans and Friendship--homosexual or gay are not used. Weird.
