Should braille be capitalized?

kestrellLJ user selkiechick and I were talking about this, and we both admitted we mostly spelled it with a capital because our spellchecker programs kept nagging us.
According to NBP, however,
the embossed alphabet is a lowercase b and only Louis Braille gets the uppercase b

Now I can go tell my spellchecker to lay off.
