Ooh. I love this idea. Every August for the last five or six years now, I've taken part in naarmamo -- a community dedicated to making one new piece of art every day for the month of August. And by the middle of the month, I'm starting to itch for making three-d sculptural things, instead of drawing yet another doodle.

So I'll have to give this a try.

Also, I bet you could adapt any needle point pattern, if you cut the "warp" of the paper loop narrow enough...
