Visually Impaired Boston Users Group moves to MIT

Kes: I'm going to this meeting and am adding some travel directions and directions for finding the room below the cut. If anyone would like to meet up and travel with me, leave a comment.

The next meeting of VIBUG will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 1:00 PM
to 4:00 PM at our new home, 77 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, building 5,
room 134, on the campus of MIT.
In addition to our question and answer period, we will feature
demonstrations of the new Book Sense from GW Micro and the IPhone from
Apple.

From the Central Square bus stop (it's near the Wendy's, basically across the street from Harvest coop) you can take either of the Number 1 buses--one is a Number 1 Cross-town--and ask to be let off at 84 Mass Ave. Once at 84 Mass Ave, you will hear a tweeting auditory cross signal on the same side of the street as the one you are on; you want to be a few yards to the left of it (the crosswalk has a curb cut and tactile bumps impressed in it). Don't follow the crazy sighted people! MIT natives tend to cross the street whenever, despite heavy traffic.
Cross the street and maintaining a straight line go up the double flight of stone steps and through the doors.
Once in the building --this is Lobby 7, big and echoe-y with the Infinite Corridor dead ahead-- take about 11-13 steps (I have short legs so this will vary) and then turn to your right. You want to keep to the right of the cafe with tables and chairs off to your left. Go through the doorway and enter the corridor. Building 5 is the second building along this corridor so you will be passing a set of stairs and a door off to your right side before you get to the VIBUG meeting room.
