I got it. I walked into a Supercuts in Central Square and asked, "Can you give me Holtzman hair?" Alexx pulled up a picture on his smart phone, and I think I can even reproduce it for Mardi Gras (it turns out my hair is pretty much Holtzman hair all the time).

I'm still trying to figure out how to do the braid thing, if anyone would like to describe it to me.

And how to do the dance.

I'm pretty certain I know where to find a torch.

Okay, I watched the movie twice in the past few days, I got the action figure, I got the "Safety lights are for dudes" pin, and now I have the tips for
How to dress like Dr. Jillian Holtzmann

Mismatched socks? brown belt with black pants?

*Pockets*?

You know why women's clothing doesn't have pockets?

Because if it did more women would be mad scientists.

That's right, first pink hats, now pockets. Inform the revolution.

Kes: I expect that the phrase "think theremins shoved inside of frog hand-puppets).that's" will be haunting me for days.

From the e-mail announcement:

The 2012 Ig Nobel Prizes were awarded last night at the 22nd First Annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony in Harvard's Sanders Theater. For your enjoyment, We've listed the award winners below.

And tomorrow you can see many of this year's honored winners attempt to explain themselves at:

THE IG INFORMAL LECTURES at MIT
Saturday, September 22nd at 1:00 pm.
MIT 10-250, 222 Memorial Drive
map: http://whereis.mit.edu/?go=10

The Ig Nobel Prizes honor people whose achievements have made people LAUGH, and then made them THINK. Ten prizes are given to people who have done remarkable things, some of them admirable, some perhaps...otherwise. We invite the winners to MIT and give them five minutes to describe and/or defend their work; then respond to questions from the audience. Here's your chance to chat with an Ig Nobel Laureate!

This year we'll also be joined by some memorable winners from the past including Dr. Richard A Gustafson who was honored in 1994 for his co-authored paper, "Failure of Electric Shock Treatment for Rattlesnake Envenomation," published in the "Annals of Emergency Medicine." With pictures please! We'll also be treated to a special musical performance by "KEROMIN, the amazing FROGS" (think theremins shoved inside of frog hand-puppets). And that's not even the strangest thing you're likely to see!

This event is FREE, and no advance tickets are required.

Because of events surrounding the inauguration of the new MIT president this weekend, we expect parking will be especially difficult this year. Please consider taking public transit. This map shows the Kendall/MIT subway stop in relation to our event location:

Yup, this must be MIT.

Though really, MIT is merely hosting the Ignoble Awards

My favorite is the study demonstrating that companies can become more efficient by promoting people at random--it's like Coyote's business management plan .
